How the United States has been blessed by God, as stated in Psalm 33:12: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” God chose Israel to be his nation but our Founding Fathers chose the God of Israel as their God, securing divine blessings for the country.

While some question their faith, history shows otherwise. Pilgrims seeking religious freedom set a spiritual tone that affected the minds of the northern colonies, unlike settlers at Jamestown motivated by profit. One group came because of the lure a profit. Another came seeking religious freedom.

Thanksgiving reveals the non-secular attitude that prevailed among our founding fathers and secured the blessings of Almighty God for this nation’s posterity.
